Frequently Asked Questions

Our company uses UNIFI Pro, how do I get my login credentials?

Contact your company admin directly to obtain your login credentials. You can also select Forgot Password on the login screen.

What do I do if I forgot my password?

Choose "Forgot Password?" on the login screen.

How do I sign up for UNIFI Pro?

Simply reach out through our Contact Us form.  We’ll get back to you within one business day at the latest.

Will the content I've loaded during my trial transfer to my formal account once I've purchased a license?

Yes. Any customizations or content uploaded to UNIFI from the trial will automatically transfer after your purchase.

How many libraries should I create?

There’s no limit to the number of libraries you can create.  We suggest creating separate libraries based on how you want to manage user permissions.  Our saved search feature can also be used to create custom groups of content.

How should I assign user roles?

It is recommended to have a larger “user” base and smaller “admin” base, as this will mitigate users having the ability to delete content or upload content without it passing your internal QA procedures. We recommend designating each member of your BIM Admin team as an “Admin”, as well as potentially some of your Revit power users, and keeping the rest of your user base with user access.

There are two types of admin roles that you can designate for a user. The company admin has full control over the entire account. They can create libraries, manage users, etc. The library admins have rights to specific libraries.

What type of content can I add to UNIFI?

Anything!  UNIFI supports multiple file formats, so if you can save it as a file, then you can also store, search, and find it on UNIFI.  That includes Revit, Bentley, SketchUp, AutoCAD, jpg, pdf, doc, xls, and even movies.

Are usage statistics and other analytics available with the trial?

Yes, you will have access to all analytics within the UNIFI desktop application and advanced analytics in the UNIFI Web Portal.

How do I know my content is secure?

At UNIFI we take security very seriously. Your data and all communication to the UNIFI app is encrypted with banking-level encryption. UNIFI’s cloud is regularly tested for any breaches and is also SSEA audited.

Why does UNIFI store my content in the cloud?

By storing your content in the cloud, UNIFI has the unique ability to upgrade your libraries to new version years of Revit, parse parameter values, deliver content globally no matter where your design teams are located, provide full library backups of your data, share content libraries seamlessly with partner companies, and provide analytics and insights into your content libraries. To put it simply, storing your content in the cloud makes your life a lot easier!

Can I share my content with others outside of UNIFI?

Yes, UNIFI offers a few sharing options depending on the level of access to content that you want them to have and whether or not they are already UNIFI users.

How does UNIFI license its solution?

We offer a per-active person license structure where you can purchase the number of licenses for anticipated active users based on the number of people expected to need access to UNIFI.  An active person is someone who logs into the UNIFI system during a 30-day period to access, view, or insert content. If more people need to use UNIFI, don’t worry – we won’t shut them out.  Instead, we will review active users during the month and if you go over the amount you purchased, we will “true” up your number of users to that higher amount.

Can I create libraries that are only visible to certain users (i.e. for a specific team or project)?

Yes, you have full control over what users or user groups have access to your libraries. UNIFI’s flexible user access controls allow you to easily customize team access to content (our User Management Guide shows you how to do this). Integration with your existing Microsoft Active Directory system (or other SSO providers) can even automate user control to match your firm’s existing security policies.

What are the IT and technical requirements needed to run UNIFI?

UNIFI customers do not need any IT additional resources to implement UNIFI.  Once your content is loaded into UNIFI, we take care of the rest. The only time your IT staff needs to be involved is when opening the firewall outbound to UNIFI and, when applicable, implementing Single Sign-On to ensure the settings are correct & deploying the admin installer.

Am I able to retrieve a copy of my content?

You can request monthly or one-time backups. We send them out via our FTP Egnyte

Can we implement Single Sign-On (SSO) with UNIFI?

Yes, visit our knowledge base article on Single Sign-On options.

Can I purchase using a Purchase Order (PO)?

Yes, please contact us for direct invoicing.

How do I cancel my services?

You can simply contact us to inform us you would like to cancel your service. We’ll be sad to see you go
